Have you guys been to my friend Liz’s site yet? She’s a mama of two who blogs about healthy authentic food with global flavors. I freaking love her because she’s the real deal in every way; Liz tells it how it is and keeps herself authentic and real. We’ve been friends for years and every single time we’re together we giggle over the most ridiculous things (including that one time she had someone deliver Buffalo Wild Wings to my hotel room).

Chai spices make this almond hazelnut butter recipe taste like your favorite chai tea latte. Spread it on toast, fruit or stuff it in sweet potatoes for the ultimate treat.

Every night when I go to bed I think about food combinations. I’m not joking. Pairing food combinations together eventually lull me into a beautiful sleep. In fact ever since we got our bed from Helix, I’ve been sleeping like a true angel!

Ready for this vegan sweet potato corn chowder with a little hint of curry spice? It’s comforting, filling and a wonderful way to use up fresh or frozen summer corn.

Welcome back to post Labor Day weekend reality. Do you have a hangover? BTW I’m not talking the alcoholic kind of hangover. I’m talking about the food hangover that lasts for a day or two post stuffing your face with chips, all the dips, ice cream, and okay, several margaritas.

Am I just talking about myself here? Perhaps.

Oh hi Monday, you’re here again. Do you have your cup of joe? Maybe paired with a big bowl of steaming hot oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast? Me too.

I got back from Nantucket last night and all I wanted to do was prepare a few healthy meals for the week. Personally I’ve found that the trick to maintaining a successful weight loss is to be prepared when it comes to food; always easier said than done though, right?

Right.

Quesadilla time!

I was looking through my blog archives the other day and realized that I haven’t made a quesadilla recipe in century.

Okay century might be a bit of an exaggeration; if we’re being technical, it’s been two years. TWO YEARS since tortillas and cheese danced on my tongue in sweet matrimony.

A few months ago, Tony and I had the chance to visit Pensacola, Florida where we had the absolute BEST truffle fries on the planet. The heavenly hot fries were full of garlic and truffle flavor, melted in your mouth and had this beautiful crusty golden exterior that I just couldn’t get over.

I finally reached my French fry heaven. One of my weaknesses in life. Yours too?

Good, because I’ve got the absolute BEST baked french fries on the planet for you to devour…

Utah has proven to be a true Winter Wonderland thanks to some unexpected snowy weather here. I arrived yesterday to snow dusted roads, slick driving conditions and wonderful steaming cups of hot chocolate. It’s ski weather!

Fortunately, all this powdered sugar dust has really put me into some sort of delusional Grinch-free holiday mood. You know, the one where I blast Mariah Carey’s Christmas album all day and night, then get on Amazon and order every present I can think of. My friends and family are getting lucky this year. VERY VERY LUCKY.

As most of you know, I’m really not into sports. I didn’t grow up watching or playing them, so I never really understood the fascination with things like fantasy football.

But then I found out that you could bet on games. And it’s literally how I learned how to enjoy and understand the game, which is fantastic because all Tony wants to do on Sunday is stay glued to the TV. I have a feeling he’s not the only one.

Quinoa pizza crust? Yep, it’s a thing. And I have to give Tony credit because he totally came up with the idea.

Sometimes we have little brainstorm sessions while we walk to get our morning coffee. I told him that I wanted to do something fun and different with quinoa (which he pronounces kin-oh-ah) and asked for some suggestions. He asked, “Can you actually make a quinoa pizza?”

Uh, sure? Wait… yes of course, that’s a fantastic idea! Thanks babe.

What’s your favorite kind of chip?

Mine are probably either Sun Chips or anything sweet potato flavored. Actually there was an amazing Australian chip brand called Grain Waves that Tony and I fell in love with when we visited last year. We had every intention of bringing home Australian wine and chips, but we kept drinking and eating them both after each purchase. Oops.

Wine + chips = the perfect late night snack.
