Well Monday, we meet again. After a weekend of binge watching 13 Reasons Why on Netflix and catching up on all things Healthy Glow. Co, I’m feeling a little bit better about life in general. Sometimes a little down time is all you need.
This week was another crazy one. Not only did Tony finally quit his job (go babe, go!), but I found myself with a full fridge after testing more recipes for the Healthy Glow. Co than you can even imagine. It’s been busy and I’m ready to hit the pause button, kick up my feet, slam a GT’s grape divine kombucha and watch Netflix the entire weekend. (TELL ME YOUR FAV SHOWS!)
Granted, I do have to finish putting the final touches on our save the dates. Getting a little bit delirious over here.

We’ve had AMAZING weather the past few days (hello, 70 degrees). After last weekend of hanging out and enjoying a few too many indulgent treats, it’s time to get back on my daily workout grind at Crosstown Fitness.
I’ve actually been mixing up my workouts with a spinning class at FlyWheel Sports last week with a barre class on the horizon. I love changing things up as it keeps me motivated to workout and targets new muscle groups. Along with new workouts I’ve been trying out some new protein-packed meals, and wanted to mix in a special ingredient for all the vegetarian readers out there…TOFU! As the resident vegetarian here at AK, Abra suggested finding ways to add tofu to some easy, post-workout meals.
I’ve been loving the ability to incorporate Nasoya Tofu in my recipes — they’re my go-to when I make vegetarian versions of my meat recipes for Abra to take home. New to tofu? Check out my previous post about ways to use the different types here!

Monday marked 7 months to go until our wedding (OMG!) so I figured it’s about time that you get to see all of these incredibly special photos that were shot back in March. My good friend Sarah was kind enough to take them for us and because she’s so ridiculously talented, I knew they would be completely perfect in every way.
We wandered over to Garfield Park Conservatory on a rainy Saturday afternoon and fell in love. If you’re ever looking for a place to do your engagement photos on a rainy day, this is my favorite spot.
This shoot felt so much like us — nature, dancing and each other. At one point we even danced to Mumford and Sons; you’ll know it when you see it.

To be honest, I find myself sitting here feeling overwhelmed and slightly anxious for a plethora of different reasons. And it’s not because I’m watching Matthew Mcconaughey be extra awkward in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days or anything. Rather, I think I’m feeling a little chaotic because over the past few months life has gotten a little insane with work and now, our wedding.

So I’m sitting here drinking my typical grape kombucha after a hectic day of coordinating video shoots and content with Abra. We’re overwhelmed, but sitting here and writing this post has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while so it’s putting me in a wonderful mood.
Lately when I’ve gone onto social media — Instagram in particular — I’ve found myself consumed with this obsession with being healthy, living healthy and eating all things healthy. What do I mean? Well, from the bowls of avocados, and pasture raised eggs to the beautiful and inspirational yoga poses; I find myself wanting to emulate this picture perfect vision of health, not just for all of you but for myself as well. It’s easy to feel like you aren’t doing a good enough job when it comes to your health. Am I right?
And in 2017, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. There’s endless information, ways to access it, people who tell you what to eat or how to eat, when to eat and how to live your best life.

How was your weekend? We had a lovely one over here with beautiful vibrant blue skies and 60 degree temps. Saturday night was even nice enough for us to grill out with homemade cumin turkey burgers, roasted peppers and plenty of wine to fill our glasses.
Last week was an entirely different story though. It was cold, rainy and I could never seem to get warm enough even when I was wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket.
The cure for having the chills? A comforting bowl of delicious soup simmering away on the stove top and devoured with your favorite crackers on top.
