I’m back from San Francisco filled with inspiration and feel good energy! Sorry about being late on this post again — I stayed up way too late and passed out with my computer on my lap before I could finish the post. I’m feeling stressed out of my mind and all I want to do is eat a burger and fries. Obviously I need to crush that craving this weekend so I stop thinking about it.
Happy weekend! I’m so sorry for the delay in my post — as you probably know it’s pretty rare for me to miss my Friday posts.
I hopped in a flight at 4am Thursday morning to Denver for a meeting, left that evening to fly to Kansas City so I could speak at ChoppedCon, then finally flew home Friday afternoon. Hence why I missed my weekend favorites. But here we are, just a little delayed.
I can’t believe I’m actually writing this: WE ARE HOMEOWNERS! IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO.
Okay, it’s really a condo. But it’s everything I’ve always dreamed of. A nice 1700 square foot vintage penthouse that’s been completely refinished. The espresso floors called my name the moment we walked into the open house!
Do you have your piping hot cup of coffee or tea? Are you enjoying your breakfast while surfing the internets?
That always seems to be my morning ritual: Coffee, workout, shower, more coffee, breakfast and browsing the internets for what’s new and interesting.
Happy Labor Day! August has gone and Fall is just around the corner. How do you feel about it? Excited? Slightly freaked out? I’m checking the all of the above box on that one.
We’ve had quite the busy (but still oh so wonderful) Summer here in Chicago. I don’t think the weather could have been more perfect. Tony and I created memories we’ll never, ever forget including: purchasing a condo, experimenting with our new grill & foods, biking and rollerblading near the lake, exploring the restaurant scene, going paleo for a week and walking around the city until we thought our legs would fall off.
In a way, I’m ready for fall produce (and baking!), cozy sweaters, wool socks and the trees to change colors. I also really appreciate fall fashion and am eagerly anticipating all the cute booties and coats online. Currently restraining myself from buying them just yet because I’m afraid I’ll fall into a bootie rabbit hole and never ever return to blogging again.
Anyway let’s move onto the BEST OF AUGUST! Ready?!
Happy weekend & helllooooo September!
How crazy is it that September is already here? We close on our condo in two weeks and couldn’t be more excited for the stress of moving to be over. To prepare for the move (it’s only a mile away from our current apartment, but you know), I’ve been going through clothes and donating whatever I haven’t worn in forever. It’s so hard to pick and choose but my closet is overflowing with summer clothes and too many clutches with restaurant receipts.
By the way, I’ve decided to update my weekend favorite with little titles about what’s new or the subject of what we’re chatting about. I feel like it gives everything a little more personalization.
Oh oh oh! Ready to learn how to freeze all that extra zucchini? Good because zucchini week isn’t over just yet.
Of course I couldn’t miss my beloved weekend favorites, so I’m sharing a zucchini tip & the favs in one post.
Hi guys! Summer has flew by quicker than any of us could have imagined. And yet, here we are — shopping for fall jackets, booties and dreaming about seasonal soups, butternut squash & pumpkin (maybe too early?). I want the long hours of sunshine to stay with us. To be able to bike along the lakeshore in the wee morning hours. To take an evening stroll down to our favorite sushi restaurant without bundling up. Summer, stay with us for a little longer.
Happy, happy weekend!
This weekend I’m heading to Boston Pops in Nantucket with Lorissa’s Kitchen. I’m really freaking excited because Lee, Liz and Davida will be too… hello girl’s weekend! We’ll be there helping to promote Lorissa’s Kitchen products so make sure to follow along on Instagram & Snapchat (username: AmbitiousKitch).
This past week I did some recipe consulting with Flatout Bread and we shot two full days of recipe videos in a gorgeous Chicago home. It reminded me how much I love doing video and need to find a way to do more!
Speaking of videos, Rose and I will be doing a Facebook Live video next Friday. If you want to see me make anything specific, let me know!
