there are so many things I want to say, words I want to form, but don’t know how to do it eloquently enough.

so I write. I share. and I’m here to commit to educating myself on what the black community faces each and every day and how I can personally deeply engage myself and my family to help and to do the work.
even though I live in a diverse Chicago community and own a shop in a predominantly black community, it is not enough. I can and WILL do better and I acknowledge that.

it isn’t just about reading or posting on social media — it’s about creating action and inspiring others to do the same. It’s time to have the uncomfortable conversations. with family. with friends. with ourselves.

It’d be a shame if I didn’t use my platform to speak out against injustice. we cannot continue to turn a blind eye towards racism or become desensitized to what we see on the news.

silence has a distinct loudness.
and we will not see radical change without radical change.
