I always knew that someday we’d have a nursery in our home but holy transformation, this room is everything I dreamed about it being and so much more!
It was important to me that Sidney’s nursery be neutral, bright and welcoming because I knew both he and I would be spending most of our time there. Therefore, we chose a light paint color called Alabaster from Benjamin Moore and mostly white, grey and black accent furniture.
However, I still wanted the nursery to have some sort of nature element of green, so I picked out some room darkening gorgeous green emerald curtains and included a few air-purifying plants.
Add a touch of orange-gold hues here and there and viola! a gorgeous nursery is complete.
One of my favorite parts of the nursery is how it blends modern and vintage elements; there’s just something unique and characteristic about mixing new and old.
The dresser, which also acts as a changing table, was refinished and re-painted into a satin white by my friend’s over at MegMade. They bronzed up the hardware a bit and I’m obsessed! It’s truly the perfect height and length and adds a beautiful feel to the room.
The bench below the window is full of woodland creatures and opens up for storage and eventually, we’ll use it to store Sid’s toys. We love it!
On top of the dresser we have a keekaroo peanut changer, a few air-purifying plants, a fox print that I love and a fun first year baby book that hopefully we’ll fill out.
Above the dresser, there’s a round black mirror that we felt added a little sophistication to the room.
On the side of the dresser, I found this adorable rattan tier storage tower that we use for storing diapers, wipes and burp cloths.
And what about the fox theme? Well, that was a result of me falling in love with foxes and deciding that it was his ‘official’ animal. I just couldn’t stop buying fox-related things — sue me!
We ended up going with the babyletto Hudson crib because of the great reviews and look. It’s really sturdy and I’m so happy that our in-laws got it for us! In the picture above, it shows white organic sheets, but we recently got these fun patterned ones and love them even more.
I ended up adding a crib skirt because the crib felt too bare without something underneath. The one I got is currently sold out, but here’s one that’s very similar. We also love having a blanket in his room for cuddling up in his rocking chair during the winter (here’s one that’s similar!).
The painting above Sidney’s crib is vintage and was given to us from Tony’s great aunt. We love how it adds a bit of color and character to the room.
Oh and can we talk about the adorable fox basket? I saw it and couldn’t help but fall in love.
A few other favorite things include this Moroccan flatweave rug from the Sarah Sherman Samuel collection and the fun globe light fixture that really helps keep the room bright. Currently it’s sold out, but here’s a chandelier that’s similar and cheaper!
I spent a lot of time looking for rocking chairs that not only looked good but were also comfortable and useful and absolutely LOVE the one we got. This particular rocking chair is amazing for a few reasons: it reclines, rocks and glides AND comes in a few stain-resistant fabrics. Highly recommend! Oh and my husband can fit in it wonderfully.
The rust colored velvet pillow is one of my favorite touches to bring warmth to the room.
In front of the rocking chair, I added a small rattan ottoman and a sheepskin rug to keep my feet warm.
Oh and we can’t forget about the cute floating shelves that were super cheap!
The black side table is great for keeping books on and a giant bottle for middle of the night wake-ups. My favorite touch is both the gold rhino and the polka dot lamp.
The last part of the nursery is this bookshelf that we found on Amazon. It’s adorable, was pretty easy to put together and is perfect for books and toys.
Above the bookshelf we put a gold fox that I got in store from my friends at Megmade.
Overall I really love the look and feel of the room and hope you do too! xo.

Yes, I think so. Not positive though! Probably best to ask Pottery Barn customer service — they’d have a better idea! 🙂
