AK Travels: Rhone Valley, Southern France

The Ambitious Kitchen team spent eight days in France learning about the food and wine culture for the #HertzSuperStart scavenger hunt campaign. During part one of our trip we explored the Rhone Valley region of Southern France. This trip was sponsored by Hertz Europe, Air France, Briggs & Riley, Rhone Valley Wines and www.visitfrenchwine.com.

Monique! You and Abra are so adorable! My family is American living in England (military stationed over here) and I am seriously trying to figure out a last minute vacation with our 3 kiddos in TWO weeks and your holiday is sounding amazing. Back in the days of yore when it was just Clark and I and we could do “Rachel Ray’s $30 a day” or something like that we LOVED trying to copycat these amazing trips. Since we can literally drive over from England (#chunnel) and we are somewhat familiar with Marseille (went there 2 years ago on a military European Test Pilot trip) do you think your trip is doable – ish with kids? My kids are 5, 11 and 13 and are pretty adventure savvy with the whole get up and go and travel thing but wondered if they’d be able to do everything you guys did? Thanks so much for any feedback you can share 🙂 Cindy xx

Hi Cindy! Thanks so much!! Amazing that you guys can just drive over from England (very jealous). Our trip was definitely food + wine heavy, so I’d probably recommend maybe looking into some kid-friendly activities/adventures in the area. Everywhere was very easy to get to by car, so I’m sure there are a ton more fun places along the way that the kids would love to explore! Let me know if you have any questions about specifics from our trip, too, happy to answer 🙂
