These burgers sound wonderful. I was wondering if they could be made into a meatball? I have a holiday party to attend and they would be great.

Great question! I haven’t tried it, so I’m not sure if they’ll hold their meatball shape as well. Let me know if you experiment!

These were delish despite some SERIOUS operator error. I made my garbanzo beans from dried and WAY over cooked them (they were mush!). Long story short, my mush beans made the whole concoction more like a VERY THICK pancake batter. I didn’t want to throw it away so i improvised – lentil/garbanzo pancakes it was! I followed the recpe exactly as suggested and ended up pan frying in some olive oil and served as suggested – so yum!!!!

Added a little dash of hot sauce because I love spice. Will definitely make again, just will used can garbanzo beans moving forward!!!

I thought we cannot have chickpeas on the 5 & 1 plan.

Hi, Barb! Not sure what that plan is!

The flavors were good (though I added more seasoning than listed); however, when I pan fried them the inner texture was super soft. Plan b was using a small scooper, spraying the meatball size mixture with oil and flattening them a bit. (Like a falafel) Air fryer set at 375 for 14 min (flipping halfway).

The results were texturally more appetizing and inspirational for future use. I like that they are bite size and can be a quick bite when we are on the go. Served over a bed of kale slaw along with the tasty mango salsa you posted.

Great idea! I’m glad that worked out well.

These never really cooked. They got brown on both sides but never really actually cooked all the way through. It was like eating raw chickpea mush, not a nice mouth-feel.

So sorry, try adding more flour or breadcrumbs next time!

Delicious! I made these for meal prep and simply layered them between wax paper to store in the fridge until I was ready to fry them up. I used brown lentils because that’s what I had, and they came out fine. I usually have no luck with lentil burgers – they fall apart and I get mad. But these didn’t, and I was double impressed because they don’t use an egg to bind!
