These rolls are my latest obsession! I’m usually horrible at baking with yeast, so I made sure to follow the instructions closely – and they turned out perfect! They’re fluffy, sweet but not overly sweet and creamy. My husband and I are almost finished with the first batch and we’re already dreaming about making them again 🙂

So happy to hear that! Such a fun, delicious baking project 🙂

The most delicious, fluffiest sweet rolls ever! So easy to make. I made mine the day before and put them in the freezer and pulled them out and let them rise overnight so I could bake them early the next morning. Take these to any brunch gathering and you will be everyone’s favorite person. Don’t wait, make these now!

Amazing! So glad you love them!!

Please help me!! I have made your pumpkin cinnamon rolls several times and they turn out PERFECTLY each time. But when I try this recipe (or the regular cinnamon rolls recipe) my dough is dense and doesn’t rise at all. What could I be doing wrong??

    • replied:

sounds like your yeast isn’t properly activating to allow the dough rise. Make sure your milk is warm (like warm bath water!), you should see little bubbles when it is mixed with the yeast after a few minutes. 🙂 that’s how you know it’s working!

These turned out incredible! Made them for a girls brunch this last weekend with our farmers market strawberries. I always joke with my sister when she says something is good and I say “well yeah, it’s by our girl Monique!” She loved them so much she requested them for her bachelorette at the end of the month. But I’m trying to figure out if I can freeze them so I can travel a few hours in the car with them or if I’ll just need to bake them off and reheat!

    • replied:

Aww I love that! And yes, see the full blog post for freezing instructions!

Despite your note that these are decidedly NOT made to be gluten free, in my own baking hubris, I decided to try anyway. Admittedly I did have an “oh no” moment right before putting these in the oven. The dough did not expand much at all and looked nothing like your photos. With some hope and a prayer, I popped them in anyway…and honestly they still turned out pretty good!

I used King Arthur gluten free bread flour and otherwise did everything as instructed. Definitely not as pillow-y as your version, but still soft and fluffy and delicious.

Sharing this for any other bakers cursed with celiac disease to see!

These are so good! The rolls are so soft and fluffy and the flavor is perfect. Only change I made was I guess I rolled my dough out too big because I got enough rolls to fill a 9×13 😅 they definitely aren’t too small though and came out perfect in size and flavor! 10/10 no notes, will absolutely make again.

    • replied:

Perfect! This can happen if you keep the end pieces (more rolls for everyone!)

  • says:

Do you think I could prepare these the night before and keep in the fridge before baking in the morning?

    • replied:

Yes! Check out the full post for overnight instructions.

I am not a baker at all. But I decided to challenge myself and make this for Easter, and they were amazing! Great step by step instructions. I also made them dairy free, using soy milk and vegan butter. Still amazing. My mother-in-law teased me that I was officially a baker now.

This recipe is SO good! At first glance, the strawberry filling didn’t seem like much, so I was a little hesitant. I made them for a shower and decided to make a batch of regular rolls just in case these didn’t come out as hoped. But, of course, AK recipes never disappoint. The rolls turned out beautifully with the most delicious topping! The freeze dried strawberries were an unexpected flavor boost. Definitely recommend!

Delicious flavor, will definitely try again. Everyone loved them. They were a lot of work. The dough was dense and chewy despite the quick rise yeast. Didn’t get the rise or fluffy texture of the dough. This is no doubt user error as I love your recipes. Will try again.

    • replied:

I’m glad everyone still loved them! Did you weigh your ingredients?

I did weight the ingredients. But I didn’t get any little bubbles with the instant yeast. Maybe it was bad? Flavor was out of this world! Definitely making for next Easter again

        • replied:

Sounds like there was an issue with your dough if it didn’t rise. The dough is just slightly different from my classic cinnamon roll recipe, and has been well-tested by myself and other testers. I suggest trying again and making sure your milk is warm to activate it!

Absolutely delicious. I love strawberries. The recipe is a bit more labor intensive than her cinnamon rolls, but, they were definitely a delicious birthday treat! Who doesn’t love a cream cheese frosting.

    • replied:

Such a fun way to celebrate! Glad you enjoyed!

  • says:

Full disclosure, I was a little worried at first- Having made ambitious kitchen’s cinnamon roll recipe before with a success, I was a little worried when the dough did not rise as big and quickly as that recipe. It might have been an issue on my end with not letting the yeast bubble a little more before putting in the bread flour. However, I finished the recipe and am very happy with results! Taste with on point! This were a fun way of changing the flavors for a sweet treat!

    • replied:

Amazing! Glad these turned out beautifully, too!

WOW these were better than I expected them to be! They baked up a lot faster for me, about 19 minutes to reach 185°! Might be because my kitchen was a million degrees so they were warm to begin with.. Was very hesitant about the strawberry liquid during the rise but wow these are perfect! Just in time for Easter!

    • replied:

Amazing! So glad you loved them – perfect for Easter brunch 🙂

  • says:

Has anyone tried doubling the recipe! I can’t wait to try them for Easter 🙂

    • replied:

Nm, I saw in the blog post you can and to use a larger pan. Still curious on anyone’s tips!

This recipe turned out perfectly! Which, was a little bit of a shock because I had a yeast issue. My problem, not the recipe. I baked 5 rolls in an 8×8 and used a full portion of the icing in the recipe, because why not?
They are soft – they looked sad and anemic coming out of the oven after being baked covered, but I came to appreciate that as we at them.
    So freaking good.

I’m glad they still turned out delicious!

10/10 hit! I made this recipe for the first time for an annual brunch I host with friends and everyone was raving about them. Not only were the DEVOURED immediately, every single person asked for the recipe afterwards! Thanks for making this non-baker look good in front of her friends!

These strawberry sweet rolls are perfect to serve anytime… breakfast, snack or dessert! They are not very sweet at all and the fresh strawberries really give you a good fresh flavor without being mush. I ended up cutting mine into 12 rolls because I rolled it out bigger than 10×14. Then they took 30 minutes to bake but I think that was because my strawberries released a lot of juices. Next time I would remove a little bit of the juice to cut cooking time down. I did brown my butter but I do not really taste it.

    • replied:

Great for any occasion! Did you use a larger pan to account for the extra rolls? That will contribute to the bake time as well, but let me know how it goes with removing a little juice next time, too!

    This seems so delicious!
Could I use somenthing else instead of egg?

    • replied:

I haven’t tried it other than as is, so I’m not sure how the results would end up!
