Wow this was amazing! I’d say one of my new faves! Definitely recommend splitting into two smoothies or using slightly less fruit, however – drinking the whole thing wound up making me a wee bit ill. It’s a Lot of fruit! But still excellent, as are all my beloved Ambitious smoothies!

It is packed! Glad you loved it, and absolutely feel free to divide it in half next time 🙂

This is delicious! I needed to add a little bit more liquid so I just added a little water to help blend. I will definitely make it again.

Did not care for this smoothie…. Followed the recipe to a tea…. It was somehow too sweet and too peppery at the same time with a combination of flavours that come out tasting more like compost than a nice smoothie.

Sorry to hear that you didn’t love this one!

Hi I’ve tried this with coconut milk and its delicious but time consuming as i have to make the coconut milk myself. Can i replace the coconut milk with unsweetened yoghurt?

    • replied:

Feel free to use any milk you’d like!

What about oxalates? Nobody is talking about them. I’ve eaten well for years, green smoothies, nuts, seeds, tofu, pulses and veg and ended up with awful IBS and now surgery for kidney stones all from eating too much spinach, beetroot and lots of other “healthy” foods. We need to be talking more about the anti nutrients in these foods too.

    Healthy drinks, love it.

  • says:

I so am gonna try this, is it okay to drink even when not sick
Also is frozen fruit purchsed okay or best to buy fresh cut and freeze?

    • replied:

      Frozen fruit will work well!

  • says:

A recipe that will be very useful in winter times, thank you.

  • says:

I like the green earthy taste of this and it has lots of healthy ingredients for immunity. What I’m struggling with is the black pepper. I used fresh ground pepper and it gives the smoothie too much of a “bite” for my liking. What kind of pepper did you use? Can you give a suggestion for a milder pepper? I know that pepper and turmeric work together to improve absorption in the body so I don’t want to leave it out.

So yummy! I have fibro and am always looking for new anti-inflammatory recipes and this is full of those ingredients so I wanted to try it out.

So glad I did! I did use oatmilk as that what we had on hand and also added some flaxseed. It is a new favorite. Even my 3yo thought it was yummy!

Love your recipes! Thanks for always sharing!

Amazing! I was looking for a new go-to green smoothie and this one has all the right stuff. Just sweet enough, and the ginger adds a nice flavor profile. Plus it’s perfect for cold season. Will be making this a lot!

I subbed frozen mango for the banana and added two scoops collagen peptides. SO GOOD.

    • replied:

      Perfect! Glad you enjoyed!

  • says:

Would it be possible to make large batches of smoothies to freeze and enjoy later? I was thinking maybe freezing then in ice cube molds but I’m not sure if that would affect their taste it the nutrients.

  • says:

I used 2 Tbsp Califa better half& half and added 1 cup Essentia water as a vegan choice instead of milk. The banana, spinach and frozen pineapple is a perfect blend with the root spices . I topped it off with a dash of cinnamon. MY NEW GO TO DESSERT😋YUM!

I love this smoothie combo. I used soy milk and some Texas wildflower honey. I also added a tablespoon of hemp hearts.

I was just wondering if those fruits in recipe were too much sugar? What are the best low sugar fruits to use?

    • replied:

I don’t consider fruit sugar to be too much as it’s a natural source of sugar, but everyone’s needs are different!

Delicious smoothie. Plenty sweet. My only issue was I needed a lot more liquid to get it to blend. Maybe it’s my old blender….. I added about a cup of coconut milk and another 1/4-1/2 cup water.

    • replied:

It could be the blender as there’s lots to chop up in here. Glad you enjoyed!

Really loved this refreshing, healthy smoothie! I’ve been in a rut with my smoothie making lately, and this definitely bumped me out of it! The banana, pineapple and honey add plenty of sweetness, and the ginger gives it a great kick! I’ll be making this one again soon.

Definitely only made one serving despite indicating 2, unless it’s meant to be a 4oz serving each?? I have not yet tried it, but AK’s recipes are always amazing plus it smells delicious and has a fun green color!

    • replied:

Hmmm the amount should look similar to what’s in the photos + video, as it should be 1/2 banana and 1/2 cup pineapple per smoothie 🙂 I hope you’re loving the taste, too!

This looks great! Wondering for almond milk would I use sweetened, original or the vanilla one?! I’m trying to go dairy free but always get overwhelmed with the choices of flavors!

    • replied:

Any of those will work well! If you’d like an additional sweetness feel free to use the vanilla one 🙂

Super tasty!! Followed everything exactly and it was really nice and easy to make 🙂 Have been trying to get into green smoothies, I’d recommend this one.

    • replied:

  • says:

Did you not peel the tumeric and ginger? I have made smoothies with both before but always peeled. Your video seemed to indicate no peeling, which I don’t bother with when juicing, but usually do when blending. Just a little clarification, please. Thanks!

    • replied:

I peel the ginger (see the ingredient list for some more details) but just toss the turmeric in as-is 🙂

  • says:

Sorry. Apparently I’m not healthy enough, i didn’t really enjoy it. It was an odd blend of flavors.

This looks amazing! Question about smoothies, can I make them and keep them in the fridge for a day?( ie make one for lunch and save the other portion for breakfast next day?)

    • replied:

I’d recommend storing them in the freezer! They should be great the next day – you’ll just want to blend them up with a bit more liquid 🙂

    • replied:

I like to drink half the smoothie and then I put the other half in a yeti thermos in the fridge to drink later. a lot of times it’s still OK overnight depending on the smoothie. some of them can separate:)
