Yoga changed my life by making me fit and healthy. This workout helps to keep one’s body flexible and strong. One can also get rid of diseases like back pain, arthritis, etc.

    Thanks for sharing

It really is the best ❤️ Glad you love it, too!

I totally agree with you. Yoga has kept me in balance with everything going on in my life, especially during my pregnancy. Keep it up!

such a touching post. i had no idea about your dad (had you shared that on the blog before?). it makes my heart ache, but i’m happy to hear that you’ve used such a wonderful practice to help cope with it. xx

This is an awesome post. I’ve actually been thinking a lot about my yoga journey and how I come to value it more and more each day. It’s amazing to me how applicable it is to real life situations. So many times where I’ve been able to control, or even avoid, frustration by breathing. Everything is always so much clearer on the exhale.

I have only ever done ‘hot yoga’ and dvd’s at home. Your post has inspired me to find a class! Thanks 🙂

I have been practicing yoga for many years and currently practice Moksha Hot Yoga. It has taught me to stay present , to set intentions, and to leave my ego outside. Thanks for sharing this honest post which I decided to share it with some Yoga Teachers.

I love this post! I have fallen in love with yoga for the first time over the past few months. I don’t always look forward to a workout, but with yoga I do. I never want the class to be over when it is.

I do practice yoga, and teach yoga sculpt! I love that sculpt is a fast paced workout, I don’t teach at a corepower studio (I live up north in a small town) so my students are all moms and grandmas who haven’t lifted much prior to coming to my class. I love watching them and helping them learn. But it is special when i get to the cities and can take a class all on my own.

I’ve only recently started practicing yoga and I too have found it to be a true game changer. Being an easily stressed and inflexible (in more ways than one – ha!) person, it is helping me to focus on breathing, being grateful for what I have in this moment and to accept myself as I am. Savasana is universally beautiful I think, and I savor it every time. (: I loved reading your thoughts on this.

I’ve done yoga in the past. And need to go back. And will. I find it to be mind clearing.

I have the exact same type of anxiety…. The desire to succeed coupled with an unknowing of what I want to do with my life. Yoga is amazing for calming anxiety and simply being grateful for life, your day, that moment. I live in Chicago too and love Bare Feet Power Yoga. Where do you practice?

  • says:

I totally relate! Yoga also helped me overcome a loss this past year, and helped me begin to accept myself for who I am. Now, I make a point to practice at least once a week, it’s the only way I can stay sane and present in this crazy world!

Such a beautiful post, Monique <3 I've tried getting into yoga on a few different occasions, but I have the hardest time lasting through a flow because my mind just does.not.want to slow down… whiiiich is probably a good sign that I should try harder. A goal for the new year, perhaps?
