It has been a busy, incredible week here at Ambitious Kitchen. As you guys probably saw, we’ve officially launched Ambitious Home! Tony and I have been building this dream of ours for the past year, and are so happy that it’s finally a reality. I will, of course, continue sharing delicious recipes + wellness inspiration here on AK, but am so excited to be sharing my passion for handmade vintage home goods through this new venture.
How did it all begin?
After I moved to Chicago in 2014 to run Ambitious Kitchen full time, I started to look for beautiful rugs that would make a statement in my new apartment. I’ve always had a love for vintage pieces that told a story, and decided that the rugs in my new home would be no different.
It was surprisingly hard to find anything for an affordable price, so I started collecting and hunting for rugs through wholesalers, dealers, antique shops, estate sales, and auctions.
I instantly fell in love with the unique patterns and beautiful, bold colors that the rugs brought into my Chicago home, so rug collecting became a bit of a hobby for me.
It wasn’t until I took a trip to the middle east where I saw an opportunity to bring my dream of collecting and selling vintage rugs to the world.
After Tony and I got married this past November, we decided to take a leap of faith and turn this dream into a reality. Ambitious Home, a curated online vintage shop focused on vintage rugs, was born!
Our hope is to make vintage rug buying more affordable and accessible. We work incredibly hard to source one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect the beauty and hard work of the hands that created them. No two rugs are the same, and each one promises to tell a story in your home.
Be sure to check out all of our available rugs here! We release brand new rugs each Thursday at 10am CST so be sure to sign up for the Ambitious Home mailing list to get a first look at new inventory. Follow us on Instagram for more detail on our new rugs, and plenty of fun behind-the-scenes.

I would love to know where you purchased your white shelving unit in your dining room!? I love that it is not heavy looking and is so functional! I also like your wood shelving unit pictured behind your sofa. If you wouldn’t mind letting me know your sources for both of the shelving units, I sure would appreciate it. Glenda

Hi Glenda! We actually rent out other spaces for our shoots, so this isn’t my furniture 🙂
