I’m SO thrilled to share with you the first of many posts about our Chicago condo aka our #ambitioushome. While we aren’t quite as settled in as I would’ve hoped (because hello, life), we’ve taken our time decorating to ensure that we really love everything we purchase.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing our master bedroom tour so be sure to come back for the full reveal. In the meantime, I wanted to tell you about the best bed I’ve ever slept on (my own bed). Seriously, it has been life changing.
Last summer I reached out to the Helix mattress company because I was interested in trying out their mattress. I had heard some major hype about how they uniquely conformed to your body, plus I had been sleeping on the same mattress for 10+ years. Ew.
After experiencing a neck/back injury in 2015, I knew it was necessary to find a mattress that wasn’t sinking in the middle. Helix was kind enough to hook a girl up with a brand new mattress.
What sets Helix apart from other mattress companies is that the mattress is personalized to you (and your partner). You simply take a short quiz, then they design a comfortable and supportive mattress for you. After that, the mattress is delivered to your doorstep and all you have to do is pull it out of the package.
At first I was nervous that it wouldn’t be the right kind of mattress for me, but I quickly because obsessed with how comfortable it is. In fact, Tony and I constantly tell each other that we can’t believe how amazing our mattress is. (It’s also significantly helped to reduce my back and neck pain.)
Anyway, if you’re in the market for a new mattress, I highly recommend Helix! I promise I would never recommend anything I didn’t truly LOVE.

I’m buying this bed based on research because you shared it. I had a back and neck injury too, so I’ve been nervous about it but it looks amazing. I’m curious what feel you chose? I was looking to go with medium but not being able to feel it in advance makes the decision hard!

I am considering a Helix also, with a medium feel. Did you end up ordering one? And if so, do you love it? What do you think? Would appreciate any info from you! It’s a lot of work researching these “bed-in-a-box” mattresses… but I think it beats duking it out at a mattress store! 😺
