Anddd finally I get to show you my beautiful Chicago master bedroom in partnership with Havenly, an online interior design service.
Havenly and I originally connected last year when I was still living in my crappy old apartment. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the place but it hardly had any kitchen space and honestly just felt run down. We had planned to work together to redo my old place, but after Tony and I purchased our condo back in the fall, we decided to redo our new master bedroom. And I’m so, so happy we did.
I worked with my interior designer, Vivian, whom I selected based off of her previously styled rooms that were showcased on Havenly’s website. She was warm and amazing to coordinate and converse with. Initially I requested something minimalistic, but my style has evolved over the past year, and I knew that I wanted our bedroom to be a mix of bold, glam and modern without being overly feminine.
Vivian and I worked together to bounce ideas off one another, and for me to chat with her about what I liked and didn’t like. She was AMAZING.
During the design process, there were a 10 big things that stood out to me:
1.) I needed a custom dresser from MegMade, and Vivian was happy to populate the dresser into the design. Isn’t it absolutely amazing?
2.) I’m obsessed with gold and bronze highlights, so Vivian found a gorgeous mirror from Anthropologie along with a few other lovely details.
3.) It was a must to have all white bedding because I love the idea of getting into bright, clean white sheets — and I firmly believe that they help lighten a room and keep it welcoming. I love my Parachute sheets SO MUCH.
4.) Vivian helped me to select pillows I loved. They’re a mix of colors, patterns and textures.
5.) I found an amazing painting off Etsy that I suggested we try in the bedroom, and oh my goodness I’m obsessed.
6.) The rug! No joke, Vivian did such an amazing job at finding me rugs. Originally we were going to put a larger rug, but because our bedroom is on the smaller side, she suggested a runner. I love the color and unique pattern it brings to the room.
7.) Plants galore! I picked up a few plants from Gather and Home here in Chicago. I’m in LOVE.
8.) I wanted an amazing headboard, so Vivian helped me find one that fit my style and personality.
9.) I needed a space to do my makeup so we set up a small floating vanity from Ikea. It was crazy to put together but works perfectly in that space.
10) We needed small nightstands that would fit in our room next to our bed. These ones were perfect.
Bedroom details are here:
Dresser (custom from MegMade)
Nightstands — sold out, but these are similar.
Rug is one of a kind from Etsy.
Headboard or similar one here.
Duvet cover & sheets from Parachute
Down alternative comforter (OMG this is the best comforter I’ve ever owned)
Large pillows from both Target and Parachute
West elm black and white pillow is out of stock (similar one here)
Dusty blush velvet throw pillow
18″Â Pillow insert
20′ Pillow insert
Picture from Etsy
curtain rod (we have huge windows so needed a big one!)
curtains (love these!)
Hope you guys enjoyed my bedroom tour. It’s officially my favorite place right now and converted me to being someone who makes the bed every morning, just so I can stare at all of my pillows.
Again, I had an amazing experience working with Havenly and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a little help designing a room. Use the code MONIQUE10 and get $50 off a full design, expires 3/31/17.

It came out so gorgeous!!
Gah!!! Been waiting for this post and it’s amazing. That mirror, the floating vanity ,everything. I love it so much!!
Also, I’ve always wanted white sheets but Max sort of…ruins that. How do you keep her from shedding all over them?!
It looks amazing! I love the custom dresser with the gorgeous Anthropologie mirror. The nightstands tie everything in perfectly too. Also, can we talk about Milly’s modeling career? Girl has got some serious swag. 😉
What a beautiful job! Would you mind sharing the paint color?
Looks like a cool transitional retro vibe. I have such a hard time finding good sheets. Question are sheets a good quality. If so, may have to purchase a set. Enjoy
btw: beautiful cat~
Yes I love them — seriously! And I wash them weekly and they are still wonderful!

That MIRROR is everything 🙂 Good job putting everything together!
Absolutely gorgeous! Well done! Would you mind sharing the seller/store on Etsy from whom you got your rug?
SO pretty, Monique! Love the rug and oil painting especially!
I love the bedroom. I think the dresser is my favorite part. The runner is also very cool.
I also saw that you have a Kristin Hannah book on your nightstand. Have you read much of her work? Night Road is a definite must. My granddaughter read it and then recommended it to her English teacher.
It’s lovely and The Nightingale was such a great book!
Serious bedroom envy! So beautiful!
Your photos are beautiful!
Everything looks stunning x

GORGEOUS! I’m in love with the floating vanity and I’m a sucker for some good pillows- they can make a room sometimes!
Not a fan of the cords from the bedside lights……looks tacky.
It’s ok Judy Jetson.
