If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen my yoga tweets lately (#akyogachallenge). I’m falling in love with my practice and it feels absolutely incredible.
Now what’s funny is that I’m the type of person who NEEDS intensity from a workout. Usually kickboxing and running tend to be my favorites because I love the ‘high’, uplifting feeling that comes from those cardio endorphins. What’s unusual is that I’ve found that I get the same feeling from my yoga practice, except I don’t have to run 8 miles to feel like I accomplished something. As soon as I step onto my mat, I let my stress go and focus my energy on breathing and thinking positively.
Most of all, yoga is slowly teaching me to appreciate the beauty within myself. It seems that we’re all searching for something, whether it be a change in our lives, bodies, or our hearts; however, before any change can happen we have to learn to accept ourselves from within. For me this yoga challenge is about so much more than just being fit.
I’ve been trying to treat my body well with nutrient packed beautiful foods, too. This means taking into account what is fresh and seasonal. Of course making a conscious decision to eat better is always a challenge but it’s important to find foods that make your brain and body happy.
Smoothies are my go-to beauty food. I love that you can pack an insane amount of fruits and veggies into one glass. Plus, they’re quite delicious during hot summer days. This smoothie is revitalizing, quick, and might even contain every vitamin under the sun. It’s not overly sweet… and don’t worry, you can’t even taste the spinach!
BEAUTY SMOOTHIE MAGIC aka WHAT’S IN THIS SMOOTHIE:
- Mango: They are packed with vitamin C & fiber. Plus they’re so delicious, you’ll probably forget how healthy they are.
- Avocado: Healthy fats go a long way and help keep you full. Plus they add a lovely creamy texture to the smoothie.
- Spinach: Pack in the iron and fiber.
- Kiwi: One of the best fruits ever. More vitamin C and fiber to keep you full.
- Chia Seeds: If you haven’t tried this relatively need super food, you must! They have omega-3s, fiber, and are full of antioxidants. You can find them at Trader Joe’s or Whole foods.

oh goodness, I was going to get on and look for a green smoothie for brekky, got distracted and popped over to your site. Uhhh, clearly you were reading my mind. Love your pretty face! off to make this!!
I’m loving all the yoga updates, and this sounds lovely!
This sure looks like a tasty and healthy summer treat! Love the kiwi garnish, so cute!!!
I always love a good smoothie! Pinned! 🙂
I’m in serious need of something healthy today. Body is all outta whack. You caught my eye with the kiwi. Whenever I’ve used kiwi in blended drinks it gets brown. I suppose from all the seeds being chopped up. I love how you incorporated several other green elements too to keep that vibrant green look. If this drink tastes as good as it looks, I’m in for a treat! Thanks so much for sharing.
This sounds great, would you drink this before or after a workout or can it just be drunk as part of your everyday diet?
Anytime! I love it best in the morning or for an afternoon pick me up!
Thanks Monique.
Any idea the calorie count or other nutritional info?
I love the feeling of accomplishment and inner peace a good yoga class gives me…such a cool challenge you’re doing! This smoothie looks like the perfect post-yoga treat.
Yum! I love adding chia seeds to my smoothies too! Never though to add an avocado though but I’m loving it. Also, I agree 100% about yoga. People would always say “but it’s not really a workout” and I would just smile and say “yeah ok, you stand on your head” 😉
I love mango. Oh man do I love mango. Definitely going to attempt this smoothie but thinking of leaving the avocado out, will it change things much? Maybe I can swap in a small amount of coconut oil to keep in some healthy fats.

I like your explanation of your yoga journey. I’m someone who loses weight only by doing the high cardio classes but for me, yoga is another kind of physical strength as well as being “me” time – it’s like a treat even if sometimes it is challenging and certain days you can do certain poses and other days you can’t. I’m nabbing this juice recipe – it sounds delicious! Namaste, Lou xx
I’ve been trying to do a smoothie every morning for breakfast. Must try this flavor combo!
Oooooh! I wanna try this one ;D

Avocados are on many lists of top 10 healthiest foods including the top 5 MUFA foods. Great recipe. Thanks.
This was smooth and creamy
This recipe went in my VitaMix this morning and I feel like a million bucks! Only change was to sub in flax for the chia, as I didn’t have any. Thanks for sharing.
Nice and smooth.
Thank you for this yummy smoothie recipe! It just inspired a version of my own as I didn’t have all the ingredients but wanted to use up some very ripe kiwis and avocado.
I received a Nutribullet for Christmas and I am very excited about the healthy recipes. Thank you for this recipe. It was delicious and creamy. My 14 year old son said “Save this one mom.”
Yummy. This is to die for!
