Ay ay, welcome to the freakin’ weekend — baby we about to have some FUN.
Seriously I haven’t been this excited about Memorial Day weekend in quite some time. And the best part? We have NOTHING crazy planned. Maybe that’s why I’m looking forward to it so much. We’re going to hang around Chicago, enjoy some patio season weather, grill out, work on wedding stuff and just chill (with a lil Netflix of course).
Okay and I know this show isn’t on Netflix, but I desperately want to watch the Handmaid’s Tale. Oh and the new season of House of Cards come out on the 30th.
Hopefully the weekend brings warmer weather here in the Midwest. We went to Tuco & Blondie on Wednesday night and I had to wear both a jacket & hat. What’s up with this May weather?! Fingers crossed for sunshine & warmth soon.
This Saturday we actually have a little date night planned, which I’m stoked about. Twice a month, Tony and I plan a date night for each other — but here’s the kicker, we can’t tell either one what it is until we actually get there. This weekend is his turn. Wonder what my surprise will be. Hopefully not Oreo cookies and hot dogs, but you really never know with my fiance.

I’ve heard good things about Handmaid’s Tail!!
I live in Chicago too and I always joke that the weather here gives me whiplash. Last week it was 85 on Wednesday, but by Friday it was 40!!! Makes me want 50 of those sangria slushies as well 😉
No plans other than hopefully baking some of your cookies!!! The best plans.
Congrats on all your success you are SUCH an inspiration!
I have been watching The Handmaid’s Tale. It is really different and makes me want to read the book. If you are easily offended by vulgar language you might not want to see it. The author is Margret Atwood and she is a very famous Canadian. I also tried you recipe for the Tahini chocolate brownies and they are the bomb…the best yet. Really hard not to eat the whole pan.

I highly recommend reading The Handmaid’s Tale. It’s a brilliant book and even more relevant in these political times. It will disturb and enlighten you in the best way that a well-written book can.
Congratulations on your 100K on Instagram! That’s a huge achievement!
I hope you have a great, relaxed weekend! As much as we love to travel and be active, a slow weekend is sometimes EXACTLY what you need.
Haha. I literally just pinned the Pinch of Yum veggie taco meat recipe right before I started reading this post.
Thx a million for a great post! 🙂
