This recipe is worth the effort of chopping herbs!! My husband and I love this in a bowl form with all the fun toppings. I served it over rice with cucumbers, tomatoes, avocado, pickles onions jalapeños and ofc the jalapeño tzatziki! We have added it to our rotation!

Absolutely! One of our fav dinners, too 🙂

I made this recipe and tzatziki sauce exactly as described but I doubled the recipe. I took a risk and made it for the first time and served to company/ it was delicious just like everything else I’ve made from this website-thank you!!!!

Amazing!! So happy to hear that 🙂

I’ve made this recipe SO many times! It’s delicious and everyone in our family, including both of my kiddos, love it! I didn’t change a thing other than doubling the recipe for leftovers

Made this last night, and it was a hit with the family! My husband is 1/2 Greek, so we love any Mediterranean meals. I did add more salt and garlic to the tzatziki, though; just our personal preference. What I love so much about your recipes, is that you use spices and herbs so well, and that you flavor the food at every stage. In my opinion, that’s what makes your food next level!

I’ve made these multiple times – for me and my family and for a casual friend’s dinner. Every time I love the freshness and all the flavors!!
My friends love them too!! Thanks for the recipe!

These were fantastic. I did not include the jalapeños as my kids don’t love the heat, but they were still very flavourful and delicious. I baked them in the oven for ease and made the linked tzatziki too. Another winner from Ambitious Kitchen❤️

Perfect! Glad they were a hit!

This is my most favorite way to use ground chicken! I’ve made it with pita or naan. I love the use of jalapeno too. Gotta love a kick! Whenever I make this meal my whole family is silently devouring it!

These herby chicken meatball pitas were SO GOOD! They weren’t hard to make and really made a delicious dinner. I used Trader Joe’s tzatziki instead of making it, but that was the only thing I changed. I fried them and they came out so nice and brown (although very oddly shaped). I’ll definitely make these again.

So delicious and flavorful!! I used regular breadcrumbs, no jalapeño, and baked them and they were great. Will definitely double the batch and freeze half next time and am already giving these as a baby meal soon!

These are incredible. My husband made them for dinner last night. We didn’t have jalapeño or mint- still came out amazing. I think he spiced up the tzatziki a bit. We went to a European bakery we’ve never been to before and got fresh pita- I immediately knew I wanted to try this recipe. My husband LOVES cooking from your book- he loves the detailed names for the recipes!!

    • replied:

So happy to hear that!! And glad to hear the recipes (and titles) from the book are a hit 🙂

Love this recipe!! I make it once a week. Thankyou!

SO delicious! I will say it definitely took a while to chop all the components for the meatballs but once that was done, it was easy to put everything together. My toddler LOVED the tzatziki sauce too so that was a win. Adding this to the meal rotation!

So glad these were a hit!!

I would like to make this for a potluck next week. Looking at the recipe, I am guessing the meatballs are served warm on the sandwich? Could I make ahead and serve them cold? I’m not sure about ability to reheat at the locations. Thanks

    • replied:

Hi! These will be delicious even if the meatballs aren’t warm!

  • says:

Can you use ground flaxseed in place of panko crumbs?

    • replied:

I haven’t tried it so I’m not 100% sure how well they’ll hold together!

  • says:

I want to make these for meal prep! Would you freeze raw or cooked?

    • replied:

Feel free to do either depending on if you want to cook them fully before eating! I have instructions for both ways within the post 🙂

  • says:

These look delicious and I cannot wait to try making them! Could you air fry the meatballs? I was trying to see if anyone else asked in the comments already but didn’t see any…

    • replied:

Great question! I actually don’t own an air fryer, so I can’t be much help with instructions (sorry!)

I haven’t made meatballs in a while because I feel like they always take way longer than I expect. These ones were so fast and really did take 15-20min from mixing to eating! They were so delicious and moist, will be adding these to our rotation!

    • replied:

So easy and delish!! Glad you loved these!

Another delicious hit by Monique! This dish tastes so fresh and would be perfect for summer. If you get a good jalapeño, the little bit of heat is perfectly balanced with the yogurt.

I LOVE this recipe! Meatballs are the best so it’s nice to have some different ideas to spice them up.

    • replied:

      Agreed!!

  • says:

This dish was a hit! I was a little worried about the jalapeño being too spicy, so I just took the seeds out of the pepper before chopping it up. The result was a mild “kick” with great flavor.
My only gripe is that I had to make two trips to the store, because I was using the recipe as my shopping list and didn’t buy greek yogurt on the first trip.

    • replied:

So glad you enjoyed! Apologies for any confusion here, too – I have a homemade tzatziki on the site that people are meant to also click on to add to their list.

  • says:

These were soooo good!! The tzatziki sauce was to die for. The whole family loved them even though I bought the feta but forgot to use it 🤦‍♀️

    • replied:

So glad they loved it (even without the feta!)

I made these for a friend who came over for dinner and we both loved them! The only thing I didn’t like was the pita bread I picked out (absolutely my fault, haha). I didn’t make my own tzatziki sauce although the tzatziki recipe sounds amazing. I might bake the meatballs next time because pan frying them stressed me out. They kept sticking to my pan and I think I’d prefer to just bake them on parchment paper and be a bit more hands free. I will absolutely make these again though! They’re so full of flavor!

    • replied:

Baking the meatballs works just as well and it’s easy to prep ahead of time! Let me know if you give that homemade tzatziki a try, too 🙂 Glad they were a hit!

  • says:

I’m all about the tzatziki – and then adding jalapeños just makes it even better! Great recipe – thanks!

Full of flavor! This is a new family favorite!

    • replied:

  • says:

Do you think the meatballs will be ok without any grain/breadcrumbs? Trying to lighten it up since the meatballs are wrapped in pita. Thanks!

    • replied:

Feel free to swap the bread crumbs for 1-2 tablespoons of coconut flour!

This was a great recipe. I left out the jalapeños because I was serving it also to my kids. The meatballs are amazing and would also be amazing in a light summer pasta dish! I’m absolutely saving this recipe

Another AK hit! Easy to make, simple to follow and a total flavour bomb. I ended up using dried parsley and dill as that’s what I had on hand. I also cooked the meatballs in a cast iron skillet to get the nice browning. All your meatballs recipes are so delicious!! I will always try any new recipe you come up with! I made the pita as well which was a fun project for this meal. We’ll definitely add this one to our rotation.

I just make this recipe and it’s a keeper for my weekly meal prep. I substituted the panko breadcrumbs for gluten free rolled oats. I only added about 1 tablespoon each of the fresh mint and dill. Also added onion and garlic powder for extra seasoning.. Love this dish! So easy to make and taste light and herby. Goodbye Cava lol

Perfect! YES the perfect alternative to Cava haha
