Last month I started reviewing pieces that I received in my Stitch Fix box and you guys seemed to enjoy it! I plan to do a review each month until I run out of money.
So here are the pieces I received in my May 2015 fix. My feedback to my stylist is always that I’d like younger looking pieces and that my style is a mix of bohemian and romantic with a little glam thrown in.
Remember if you see a piece you like, you can request it in your next fix! Just pin the image to your style board and the image will have the name of the clothing article so that your stylist is able to see it!
Ara Maxi Dress by BRIXON IVY ($88)
This dress was amazing! Check out the detailing on the top. Plus it was really incredibly comfortable and gorgeous. The only thing I didn’t care for was the jersey-like material, meaning you could see everything underneath like bra and underwear lines. Yikes!
Besides that, I think it would make a lovely backyard party dress. I probably wouldn’t wear it out for a date night due to the material.
Keep or Return?
Return. I didn’t end up keeping the dress because I have several black maxis that are very similar.
Brandi Embroidered Skirt by THML ($58)
This skirt was adorable. I loved the pattern and the fact that it was a little bit shorter than most of the skirts I get from Stitch Fix.It would be completely gorgeous for a date night out!
Keep or Return?
Return. The reason is because I didn’t love it. I wasn’t sure if I’d actually wear it more than once or twice. My typical date nights are more dressy and this skirt just wasn’t my style.
Emily Crochet Pencil Skirt by Pixley ($68)
So this skirt was… interesting. First of all it was a little too big for me and fit at an awkward place in my waist. The skirt also wasn’t very fitted, meaning it was baggy or loose in weird places. I also didn’t really care for the color. I’m not a huge bright pastel person.
Keep or Return?
Return. Again, this just is not my style. I work from home and I’m not sure I’d ever wear this. Nor would I wear a crochet pencil skirt on a date night out. Plus I felt like I could get something similar at Target.
Cibrian Lace Detail Top from Kut From the Kloth ($68)
Isn’t this top gorgeous?! I fell in love with it because of the lace. Since my typical style includes somewhat of a romantic look, I adored this shirt from the moment I took it out of the box. It was comfortable, made of light material and I really loved the fact that it was white. I dressed it down with some cute floral shoes from Target.
Keep or Return?
Return. I know that may be surprising but I also felt that it made me look like I might be pregnant because it was very baggy. Otherwise I loved everything about this shirt!
Rafael Crochet Trim Halter Top by Le Lis ($44)
Yes, yes, yes! This halter top is amazing and perfect for summer. I loved that you could easily dress it up for a date night or dress it done and wear it on a humid summer afternoon. The material was lovely and light and it was surprisingly cheap. There was also little amazing crochet details on the top’s edges near the shoulder line.
Keep or Return?
Keep! I can’t wait to wear this out with my skinny black jeans and some kitten heels or wedges. Thanks Stitch Fix!
So overall, I kept 1/5 pieces. That’s a little unusual for me, but I also don’t want to keep pieces just to keep them. If you want to see my overall style, you can check out my Style I Adore Pinterest board.
I’d love to hear if you’ve tried Stitch Fix out! If you haven’t yet, it’s easy to sign up and so much fun.
Also reminding you again: If you click on any of these images and pin them, the name of the piece should show up in the pin description. Feel free to pin them to your Pinterest boards and request any of these pieces in your next fix!
Have a wonderful weekend!
