It feels so weird to write out 2016, don’t you think? Not to mention that I still can’t get over the fact that I am now four years from turning thirty yet I continue to blast Justin Bieber like a teenager. Oh well. *plays The Feeling on repeat*
In other more exciting news, I’ve been making recipe videos. Most recently I created one for my Double Chocolate Paleo Banana Bread and think it’s pretty cute. You can find the full video over on my Facebook page (would love if you liked my page!). I’m going to buy a tripod this weekend, so they’ll be a much less shaky. If you have any favorite AK recipes you’d like me to create videos for, let me know in the comments below! Love hearing from you.
This past week I was all alone, therefore I was able to eat whatever I wanted. Most days my breakfast consisted of avocado toast or gorgeous blueberry oatmeal (topped with peanut butter duh). I posted this one over on Instagram and you LOVED it.
I also spent time prepping amazing recipes for February, and of course, Valentine’s Day is already on my mind. It’s one of my favorite holidays because not only do you get all the chocolate, but you get to do create something special for your significant other.
Do you have any fun traditions? I often just resort to the never ending crafty stuff on Pinterest. You feel me on that one?
Speaking of Pinterest, the other day I was browsing through my feed and saw DIY Roman Shades, which looked so professional and lovely. The tutorial was amazing, but I realized that I would literally rather spend $500 on shades then put together tension rods and sew fabric. I can’t even pretend to enjoy that.
Okay, enough chatting. Let me tell you about some of my favorite things from this week:
I watched this movie on Netflix and loved it.
This jacket is on sale at Anthropologie and I need it in my life.
7 ways to destress after work. (I prefer long, warm baths with lavender and epsom salt.)
Interesting article on why you shouldn’t call it a “cheat meal”. Thoughts?
Breakfast next week = this oatmeal.
Where to find secondhand furniture online. OMG this is the best list!
Prepared to dive into this healthy, flavorful salad.Â
How gorgeous (and delicious) do these cookies look?!
Going to make this tasty whole wheat pasta dish next week!
Izzy’s blueberry carrot muffins look magical.Â
Slow cooker chicken chili. Also going on next week’s meal plan.
Don’t forget to take my annual reader survey! Love you guys.
Have an amazing weekend. xo.

Those blueberry carrot muffins look SO good!
I just took the survey yesterday, and I can’t wait to see what becomes of AK! The destress article was so cool–now I’m going to buy more plants and candles! And I absolutely agree with the “cheat meal” mentality!
Thanks so much for including my cookies! Have a great weekend :).
Yum, that oatmeal looks AMAZING ! 🙂 Also – loved the article on ways to destress after work! Thanks for sharing, Monique!
I love that coat too!
I like to use almond butter over peanut butter. Much healthier for you.
