Hello hello! How was your week?
This week was spent back home in Chicago recipe testing with a happy belly. Believe me though, I had my fair share of good food in Mexico so I’ve been welcoming healthy, nutritious food and non-alcoholic drinks. Tony and I are actually doing a little eating challenge together — we’re eliminating dairy and gluten (basically doing paleo) for a week. It’s actually been really fun meal planning for us, grilling and getting rid of excess sugar and junk in our normal diets. Tony seems to be doing well, but I can tell he already misses pizza. I on the other hand miss peanut butter.
This weekend we’re attending the Taste of Chicago. I’ve never been before, but am looking forward to seeing all the vendors. I’ll be there checking out Hill Bros and their new compostable single serve pods (super cool, huh?).
Ready to get onto weekly favorites?!
This watermelon margarita IS EVERYTHING.Â
I could eat this pizza every single day for the rest of my life. YUMMM.
This salad sounds so dang good, and we can use up all the zucchini lurking around.
My new favorite mascara!
Crushing on this peach avocado salad like crazy. I’d add quinoa
Lee’s blueberry waffles look like weekend brunch.
Can we talk about how amazing this no churn strawberry ice cream looks?
Gaby’s homemade ketchup! GUYS I LOVE KETCHUP MORE THAN ANY OTHER CONDIMENT.
Exercise doesn’t contribute all that much to weight loss (it does have other benefits though!).
Have you tried the sweet potato toast trend yet? I feel like I need to.
P.S. Check out my latest sweet potato creation on Instagram.
Have a great weekend! xo.

I’m going to the “Taste of” in my hometown this weekend too! Props to you for going paleo for the week, I don’t think I could! Hope you guys had a blast in Mexico and I can’t wait to hear all about it! 🙂
Will you be doing a recap of your Mexico trip? I would love to hear where you stayed, what you liked and didn’t like. We’re in the process of planning a trip and testimonials go so much further to me than reading the resort’s website! Thanks!
I wasn’t planning on it, simply because it was a way for me to unplug and stay off social media for a few days! I can tell you we stayed at the Royal in Playa del Carmen and it was FABULOUS. Great food.
I tried the sweet potato toast- liked it topped with avocado or Laughing cow best!
Thank you for the link love!
Wait – did you say you were missing peanut butter? Why cut that out? You (and so many of us) love it soo much.
Thanks for the love! I seriously cannot ever get enough of that homemade ketchup!
So classic and simple, and definitely what I want for lunch right now : )
Mmmmmm…..yum. This looks totally amazing. I’m just starring at the screen looking at how delicious they look.
