HI GUYS. How do we feel about it being the last day of August? Are you ready for fall and all the pumpkin related items Starbucks try and make you buy, or are you still soaking up the sunshine with a marg in your hand?
Not gonna lie, I feel a little guilty for even mentioning the word pumpkin, but ya girl loves pumpkin and I can’t hide it. PUMPKIN LOVAH FOREVER.
What I am a little bummed about is summer coming to an end soon though. Part of me feels like the season didn’t even happen. Anyone else? As I get later into my twenties, I realize how quickly the seasons pass us by and how we should always take advantage of the time we do get.
That’s why this Labor Day I’m in chill out and grill out mode. Relaxing on my patio with Tony, friends and Milly (the cat dog). And bonus cause I get to tell you all about a new grocery delivery service I’m LOVING: Amazon Fresh (which now has some items from Whole Foods — whoo hoo!).
I started using AmazonFresh this summer because 1) I am obsessed with all things Amazon — it literally just makes my life easier. 2) I’ve been wedding planning and recipe testing for the upcoming 6 months (I know right, so crazy) 3) Grocery shopping headed to the bottom of my to-do list.
I put together a few fun ways I’ve used Amazon Fresh, and thought they were perfect and fun for your Labor Day celebrations. Check it out:
I typically plan out my content calendar a few months in advance and test 6+ recipes per week, so I would order groceries from AmazonFresh on Sunday night. The best part? You can set a specific day and time to get them dropped off, and they can be there the next morning. Holyyy time saver. Along with my typical kitchen staples and recipe ingredients, Abra and I had a blast throwing a little brunch picnic (how cute?!), making delicious matcha smoothie bowls, and celebrating Taco Tuesday in style.
The brunch picnic is such a cute and inexpensive way to feed friends or a family. Grab all the ingredients or use the photo above for inspo and head to the park or beach to enjoy.
This smoothie bowl was one of the best I’ve made in awhile and is so refreshing. It’s a great way to start your morning if you know you’ll be celebrating with lots of food during the day.
Recipe:
¾ cup frozen mango
2 cups spinach
1 scoop matcha latte drink mix (or regular matcha)
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 scoop collagen
Blend in a blender until smooth.
For your next girl’s night or get-together with friends set up a little taco bar!
These are my go-to’s for keeping things fresh and flavorful:
corn tortillas, guac, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, black beans, bell peppers, cilantro, avocado, mango, green onion, salsa, and of COURSE jalapeños.
P.S. Amazon Fresh even has Halo Top and kombucha so basically all of your bases are covered.

We would always do taco/burrito bars for dinner when I was growing up. Super quick and easy and it pleases all of the different palates!
Amazing! Agreed – love how customizable they are 🙂
I have been counting down the days to Sept. 1 – the official start of pumpkin everything season! Can’t wait to try your pumpkin recipes!
It’s time! I’ll have plenty more coming too 🙂
Summer definitely flew by – but I’m excited for a much-needed girls trip to Chicago this weekend.
I hope you had an awesome weekend here!
Do you make your own corn tortillas or use store bought? I’m always needing good corn and whole wheat flour tortillas and haven’t found ones I love yet.
I typically use store bought!
Girl. I am SO with you on the pumpkin train. I have enjoyed so much pumpkin over the summer that I’m shocked my face isn’t orange! The layout of brunch foods and the taco bar are so clever!
Great ideas!
