I didn’t know how much I would love to read bloggers’ newborn baby resources until I had a baby myself! Yes, of course, baby shower registries are fun and all, but when it’s all said and done, what are the products you’ll actually need and use the most for your baby?!
I’ve put together a list of some of our favorite baby products we use on an almost daily basis for our little babies. Enjoy and let me know if you have any favorites below!
- Vtech Baby Monitor: direct connection (not connected to wifi) baby monitor for no delays in feedback. I’ve tried A LOT of baby monitors and this is probably our fav. Here’s another inexpensive option.
- Diaper rash cream: I love how soothing and gentle this diaper cream is, especially for babies.
- Babo Botanicals bath soap: all natural baby bath soap that smells amazing! We also use their calming baby lotion.
- Dr. Browns 8oz bottle: our favorite bottle that helps prevent baby from sucking too much air while feeding. We love the 4oz ones for newborns, but the 8oz is nice to have for when they get bigger.
- Hatch Baby Sound Machine:Â I just started using it and love the night light on it, plus the ability to have a sound machine.
- Breastmilk freezer bags: these are my favorite bags I’ve tried! They don’t ever leak because the plastic is thicker. Greatest way to store and build up the breastmilk supply.
- Baby fleece booties: we could never get our baby’s socks to stay on. These easily strap and stay on!
- Bibs Pacifier: our baby’s favorite simple pacifier. Really the only one he likes.
- Keekaroo baby changer: our baby changing station. We love it!
- Portable changing pad: fold and go changing pad. This is perfect for newborn babies if you want to change them pretty much anywhere, like on your bed.
- Shynerck backseat mirror: Perfect for keeping an eye on your baby while driving since backward facing.
- Happy Baby Carrier: carry baby in style with this soft carrier. Nothing beats the Solly Wrap, though – this is a MUST!
- Babybjorn bouncer: our baby’s favorite area to sit and watch his parents. We throw this everywhere we need to and it easily folds up for transport. This is a must!
- Stroller toy: our baby loves this toy and keeps his focus while in a stroller or our BabyBjorn bouncer.
- Diaper bag: not-too-fancy diaper bag that has convenient space and pockets for all of baby’s goods. We LOVE this and have had it for over 5 years!
- Honest diapers: our favorite brand of diapers. Baby doesn’t blow out as much in these!
- Ubbi diaper trash can: great trash can that holds that dirty diaper smell at bay.
- Ubbi trash bags: strong trash can liners that fit the Ubbi trash can.
- Lovevery Playgym: great spot to keep baby entertained and practice tummy time. We use this all the time and LOVE.
- Nursing Bras: inexpensive but comfy nursing bras!
- Swaddlme swaddle: a type of swaddle that makes it easier to secure your baby. We use this right away with our babies because they are easy and then transition to the Ollie swaddle once they start getting a little bigger.
- Baby bathtub: this is what we use to safely wash our newborn!
- Mommy’s Bliss Vitamin D drops: all natural vitamin D drops given to the baby once a day.
- Halo BassiNest: love our bassinet for baby. There’s really nothing life changing about it but I do love that you can swivel it.
- Animal pacifier: A fun pacifier that allows a baby to grab onto a stuffed animal. Sidney loves it in the stroller.
- Nursing tank: I recently got these nursing tanks and really love them. So simple to use and have a built in bra. Heck yes. Great for throwing a cardigan over!
- Haaka Breast Pump: This is primarily what I’ve been using to catch my milk. Every time I nurse I put it on the other side and it is a game changer. Every day I’m able to catch anywhere from 4 to 6 ounces of milk without PUMPING! Yahoo!Â
- Chicco Car Seat: safe, secure and comfy. We also love the Doona car seat & stroller.
- Honest baby wipes: Our favorite brand of wet wipe. We also love Water Wipes.
- Motherlove nipple butter: this has become my go-to nipple butter to use. I simply love it because it soothes and quickly heals sore nips.
- Burp cloths: these are perfect for spit up and any other messes that you or baby makes!
- My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow: I’m obsessed with this thing. I honestly do not know what I’d do without it!!
- Bugaboo stroller: a hip stroller with the ability to fold for easy carry for travel. We love it for the city. The Doona car seat & stroller (as mentioned above) is our other go-to!
- Hooded newborn bath towel: great for after bath – soft and adorable too!
- Branch Basics Starter Kit: I use this to clean messes and blow outs baby makes, especially their oxygen boost, which helps remove stains! Use the code ‘AMBITIOUSKITCHEN’ to get 15% off first time orders.
- Two way zip PJs: makes it easier to change baby at night!

Great list, thanks for doing this! Would love to hear more about your experience with the Snoo, as well as with the owlet monitor.
The snoo was an on and off success for us. We liked it at times and felt it did nothing at other times. Ultimately it’s really up to the individual baby’s preferences and how you implement using the snoo. The owlet wasn’t great for us because it never connected well to our phones and frankly we didn’t want to rely on spotty wi-fi. We’ll probably use it when we go out to eat, but like having two monitors!
As an audiologist, you should NEVER put oils in your or your children’s’ ears. This is dangerous. If the child has an actual ear infection, antibiotics are here for a reason. If you must, only apply externally. Disappointed in that “recommendation.”
That’s what was recommended to us by our pediatrician actually, but maybe I’ll do more research into it — thanks for the head’s up.

Big yes to My Brest Friend – I bought it after I saw you recommend it with Sidney and it’s the BEST. My son is 6 months now and we still use it pretty much every feed. I’m telling all my friends! lol. Also have a similar baby changer and I’m so glad we got one that’s this wipe-down style rather than one with a fabric cover. So much easier when baby boy pees everywhere haha.

How do you use the Tubby Todd ointment for cradle cap, do you apply it over night? Or before a bath? I’m debating how to do it, my baby has more hair than yours.
My recommendation is to get the frida cradle cap brush and use coconut oil on their head during bath to clean. I applied Tubby Todd a few times post bath (yes their head will look greasy lol) and it really helped to get the dryness of the cradle cap to go away.
Hi! We have bought so many of your recommendations and love them all! Our baby girl joined us 3 days ago so having great products has really helped us navigate the insanity of becoming new parents. I was wondering, do you have a recommendation for a bottle/breast pump sterilizer? Thank you!!
