Cheers to the last weekend of 2019! Along with all of the holiday festivities we’ve been patiently awaiting the arrival of our baby boy and couldn’t be more excited to celebrate his birthday (whenever he decides to show up!). I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season, too, filled with family, friends and delicious food.
A few days ago, we rounded up the top 25 reader favorite recipes from the year and today I’m SO excited to share MY personal favs from the past year.
These 25 recipes below were my go-to’s throughout the year — I tested them countless times to share with all of you, and re-made them all year long because Tony and I loved them so much. Who knows, there may be a few you haven’t tried! Be sure to leave a comment and let me know your favorites, too. Enjoy, xo!

Maple Blueberry Turkey Sausage Breakfast Patties
I loved these savory sausage breakfast patties packed with juicy blueberries, herbs and spices. These are perfect when paired with hashbrowns or sweet potatoes and eggs. Heck, I’d even enjoy them for dinner. Plus they’re perfect and easy for meal prep — just store them in the fridge or freezer and reheat when ready to enjoy.
Chai-Spiced Butternut Squash Muffins with Salted Honey Glaze
The most delicious muffins ever — don’t let the butternut squash throw you off. I love chai and these muffins taste like pumpkin muffins with the coziest tea spices and a hint of browned butter. And let’s not forget about the salted honey glaze. SERIOUSLY YUM.
Homemade Chunky Healthy Granola Recipe (vegan & gluten free!)
Ummm hi, if you haven’t made this granola yet, please do it. It literally tastes like french toast! It’s also perfect for lactating mamas thanks to the healthy fats, oats and flax + chia seeds. So good & naturally sweetened too!
Healthy Banana Oatmeal Pancakes (made right in the blender!)
These are my go to weekend pancakes when I have ripe bananas I need to use up. They’re fluffy, healthy and great for toddlers & kids too!
Fluffy Flourless Peanut Butter Chickpea Muffins
SERIOUSLY MAKE THESE ASAP. All you need is a few ingredients, plus they’re fluffy, packed with protein and fiber and taste like a slice of peanut butter banana bread. No one can tell they’re made with chickpeas — especially not kids!
If you have extra pumpkin leftover (or even sweet potato) then you should absolutely make this pumpkin smoothie. Abra and I couldn’t get over how much it tastes like a slice of pumpkin pie!
Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Muffins (dairy free + gluten free)
I just can’t get over the peanut butter banana chocolate combo. These are made with peanut butter, bananas and oat flour for the ultimate dairy free & gluten free muffin because they’re just SO fluffy!
Summer Strawberry Spinach Salad with Avocado
A true favorite this year and my-go to summer salad. I love pairing it with grilled chicken or adding chickpeas.

If you didn’t know that blueberries + avocados are a match made in heaven, now you do. So good and perfect in the spring and summer.
Healthy Chicken Pot Pie Soup (whole 30, dairy free)
This was an immediate hit on AK and for good reason! It’s super creamy, yet there’s no cream. The broth is made of chicken broth, potatoes and cauliflower. Slurp it up and fall in love.
30 minute Healthier Pasta Carbonara
This is one of Tony’s favorite weeknight meals. He loves it with angel hair pasta, and sometimes we mix it up and do sauteed spinach instead of peas.
One Pan Ginger Chicken Meatballs with Peanut Sauce
UM HELLO these meatballs are freakin’ amazing. You must make them! Feel free to add more veggies to the sauce or serve over rice or rice noodles!
This mac and cheese is the most delicious thing ever. Seriously we couldn’t stop making and eating it! You can’t taste the zucchini at all. Feel free to add in peas, broccoli or whatever you’d like.
Incredible Slow Cooker Pulled Chicken Sandwiches
Such a great easy meal to throw together in your slow cooker. The sauce is incredible and the crunchy slaw on top is life changing!
One Pot Moroccan Chicken Stew with Sweet Potato & Couscous
One of my favorite chicken stews EVER. So cozy, full of unique incredible flavors. A must-make!
When I first made this recipe, I knew it was going to be good… but I didn’t know HOW good it would be. Seriously make this ASAP. It’s one of my favorite comfort food makeovers EVER!
Vegetarian Spinach Pumpkin Lasagna
Abra’s favorite lasagna on this planet. The pumpkin is a gamechanger, especially with the layers of cheese, spinach and noodles.
