Can we agree that July is the best month of summer? The weather’s warm, there’s still plenty of summer left, and the produce is literally amazing. During hot summer days, I crave all things fresh, flavorful, and colorful.
You know I had to put together 31 seasonal recipes to cook in July to kick off the best summer month and inspire you to get creative in and out of the kitchen. I’ve included plenty of grilling recipes for the days when the stovetop and oven are just too hot, plus tons of apps and desserts that are perfect for bringing to your Fourth of July BBQ!

What’s in season in July?
This month, stock up on plenty of:
- Bell peppers
- Jalapeños
- Corn
- Tomatoes
- Berries
- Watermelon
- Fresh herbs
- And of course, zucchini
P.S. did you know we have dedicated ingredient pages? YES! Click any of the produce names above to see all of those recipes, or head to our Recipe Index to filter by even more.
Let’s get to the goods. Start things off with a fun appetizer, pair it with a bright, veggie-packed salad (pasta salad, anyone?), impress friends with a juicy burger or chicken from the grill, and don’t forget a sweet summer treat to round it all out.
